Inside the open pores, tiny bands of calcite held soft shadow like lines drawn with charcoal. This stone has been waiting for millions of years… but a designer can flatten its history in one careless mitre. I ask to see the section, the underside, the edge, and the full raw faces before I believe the silhouette.<\/p>\n A heavy-looking stone object may be carved from solid material, assembled from matched sections, or clad over a structural core. None of those methods is automatically dishonest. The drawing, edge, underside, and joint pattern need to reveal which construction the project is buying. Lasting material value rewards close attention, and honesty lasts longer than a trend photograph.<\/p>\n
