Nero Marquina Black Marble Pedestal Sink for Contemporary Bathroom Interiors

The Black Marble Pedestal Sink combines a compact circular footprint with the pronounced black-and-white pattern of Chinese Marquina Marble. Rather than resting on a conventional vanity cabinet, the basin rises from the floor as a visible stone column. Its cylindrical outline gives the bathroom a simple architectural form, while the white veins introduce movement across the dark surface.

This design is particularly relevant to powder rooms and guest bathrooms where the washbasin is viewed immediately upon entering. A single freestanding basin can create a clear focal point without requiring a full-width countertop or furniture-style vanity.

The marble’s black background coordinates with light wall tiles, brushed metal fittings, warm timber and pale stone floors. Against a white wall, its circular outline becomes especially visible. In darker interiors, the natural white veins prevent the pedestal from reading as a completely uniform black object.

A freestanding sink still requires appropriate water supply, waste connection and secure placement. Its location must be coordinated with the bathroom plumbing layout rather than determined by appearance alone. For a working installation, the drawing should show the basin, faucet, drain and finished floor together.

Chinese Black Marquina Marble: White Veins Across a Cylindrical Sink

Chinese Black Marquina Marble has a dark background crossed by irregular white and light-grey mineral veins. On a flat slab, the pattern is seen across one large face. On a cylindrical pedestal, the stone changes direction around the curved exterior, producing a different visual effect from each viewing angle.

Controlling the Black Background

Some stone selections have a more uniform black appearance, while others contain lighter grey areas or additional mineral markings. A representative finished sink sample is useful for establishing how much variation is acceptable across repeated bathroom installations.

Vein Placement on Curved Surfaces

A prominent white vein may travel across the front of the pedestal or become visible along one side. Natural veining cannot be reproduced identically on every unit. For hotel orders, the most practical approach is to approve an appearance range rather than require matching veins on all 100 sinks.

Chinese Marquina and Spanish Nero Marquina

These names are associated with black stones of similar visual character, but their geological origins and measured properties should not be treated as interchangeable. This product is specified as Chinese Black Marquina Marble, and material acceptance should refer to the actual Chinese stone selection supplied.

Black Marble Pedestal Sink Dimensions, Basin Geometry and Specifications

The original product page describes a freestanding sink approximately 90cm high. It also contains a separate catalogue of shallow basin dimensions, including 420×420×135mm and 540×440×140mm. Those figures describe other basin formats and should not be interpreted as the complete cylindrical pedestal dimensions. The specifications below distinguish the established product reference from dimensions that require confirmation.

Important: Basin Dimensions Are Not Pedestal Dimensions

The existing catalogue contains shallow basin sizes associated with countertop and vessel sinks. A finished Black Marble Pedestal Sink must instead be specified by overall height, outer diameter or width, bowl dimensions, base contact area, stone section, waste connection and the approved faucet arrangement. These dimensions should be checked together before fabrication.

Cylinder Pedestal Basin Carving: Bowl Depth, Rim Width and Water Drainage

The upper basin determines how the sink performs in daily use. A cylindrical exterior may look simple, but its interior needs carefully controlled depth, smooth curves and a suitable slope toward the drain outlet.

A shallow basin can be visually refined yet more prone to splashing when paired with a high-flow or poorly positioned tap. A deeper bowl changes the usable washing space and the remaining stone section below the interior. Both the faucet outlet position and water flow should be evaluated with the actual bowl geometry.

The rim must be wide enough for the approved design without creating an uncomfortable or fragile exposed edge. If the model uses a deck-mounted faucet, the top surface also needs sufficient space for the mounting hole, fixture base and required fixing access.

At the bottom of the bowl, the waste connection should sit in a correctly shaped opening with the appropriate fitting and seal. A visually smooth basin is not necessarily a properly draining basin. Drainage should be checked on a finished sample, including any areas where water may remain around the outlet.

Wall-Mounted or Deck-Mounted Faucet for a Marble Freestanding Washbasin?

A pedestal sink does not automatically include a faucet hole. The intended tap model should be selected before drilling begins, since the water outlet position affects splash control, usable basin space and the available stone surrounding an opening.

Faucet Type

Visual and Installation Effect

Required Approval

Deck-Mounted Faucet

Faucet installed on the basin’s top deck where the selected model permits.

Hole diameter, position, stone clearance, fixing access and water outlet alignment.

The original product description mentions a pop-up waste fitting. Its inclusion, finish and compatibility should be confirmed for the selected model. The quotation must also clarify whether a suitable overflow arrangement or non-closing waste is required for the intended installation.

Nero Marquina Cylinder Sink: Internal Construction and Floor Connection

The cylindrical appearance may be achieved through carving or a carefully fabricated assembly, depending on the approved model. The buyer should confirm whether the pedestal body and basin are a single carved stone component or connected pieces, because that decision affects joint inspection, total weight and plumbing access.

A heavy stone pedestal requires an appropriately prepared supporting floor. The base should sit evenly, and the installation method must address accidental movement or tipping. A freestanding appearance does not mean the sink can be placed on any finished floor without checking its restraint and load path.

Drainage may need to connect through the pedestal base or another planned internal route. The waste pipe, trap and maintenance opening should be coordinated with the plumber before the stone is drilled or permanently positioned.

If the design conceals the trap within a hollow pedestal, the service arrangement must remain accessible as required by the plumbing system. A fully enclosed stone column without a practical service strategy can make repairs unnecessarily disruptive.

Polished and Honed Black Marquina Marble Sink Finishes

The selected finish changes how black marble appears under bathroom lighting. Polished Nero Marquina brings out the contrast between the dark background and white veins, while a honed surface reduces reflection. Both require careful finishing inside the basin, around the rim and across the curved exterior.

The following published values describe China Marquina Marble, the material family associated with this pedestal sink. They are general material references rather than verified MQ STONE production-batch results. Where formal documentation is required, the selected stone can be assessed using appropriate methods such as EN 1936 for density and open porosity, EN 13755 for water absorption and EN 12372 for flexural strength. The published ranges above have not been independently tied to batch-specific test certificates using those methods.

Technical qualification: these are Chinese Marquina Marble material references, not Spanish Nero Marquina values and not certified results for MQ STONE’s present sink production. A finished product may require separate testing for functional use, drainage, stability, surface behaviour and applicable sanitary requirements.

Functional Washbasin Testing: Drainage, Overflow and Cleanability

The European washbasin standard EN 14688:2015+A1:2018 describes functional characteristics and test methods for domestic-use basins, including those used in hotels and similar accommodation. It can inform the technical review when applicable to the intended market, but citing the standard does not establish that this specific black marble pedestal sink has been tested or certified.

The relevant functional issues include whether the finished bowl drains correctly, whether its surfaces can be cleaned, how overflow protection is provided and whether the complete installed basin meets applicable mechanical and service requirements.

Overflow arrangements need particular attention. Some carved stone bowls do not have an internal overflow opening. In those cases, the waste fitting and plumbing design must provide an appropriate solution under the applicable requirements. A closable pop-up waste should not be assumed acceptable for every basin without an overflow.

For export projects, buyers should identify the destination’s sanitary and plumbing requirements early enough to influence basin machining. Confirming these details after 100 finished sinks have been carved can make correction expensive or impractical.

Black Marble Freestanding Sinks for Hotel Suites, Villas and Powder Rooms

The cylinder pedestal format works best when the surrounding bathroom provides enough clearance for comfortable use and maintenance. Its relatively clean silhouette pairs well with modern wall-mounted mirrors, restrained lighting and uncluttered vanity areas.

Hotel Guest Bathrooms

A repeated cylindrical basin can give guest bathrooms a recognizable design identity. For a 100-set hotel package, consistent overall dimensions, faucet positions, drainage arrangements and floor interfaces are more important than identical marble veining.

Residential Powder Rooms

A powder room with limited furniture can use a black marble pedestal as its central feature. The selected diameter should allow adequate clearance around the toilet, doorway and washbasin without creating an unnecessarily restricted circulation area.

Private Villas and Guest Suites

The black-and-white stone can coordinate with pale travertine, timber cabinetry, metal fixtures or white marble wall panels. The mirror and lighting arrangement should be reviewed so the strong black cylinder does not visually overwhelm a small bathroom.

Boutique Hospitality Washrooms

In public-facing or frequently used washrooms, specify the basin in relation to accessibility, cleaning access, fitting durability and applicable sanitary requirements. A decorative freestanding form does not replace these functional assessments.

Factory Inspection and Export Packing for 100 Black Marble Pedestal Sinks

A 100-set order should begin with one approved finished model establishing the diameter, height, basin cavity, rim profile, drain location and selected marble finish. When the same sink is intended for several hotel guestrooms, this sample becomes the dimensional reference for production.

Inspection should cover the roundness of the exterior, vertical alignment, base flatness, rim smoothness, surface condition and consistency of the basin opening. A finished sink should also be checked for drainage and compatibility with the approved waste fitting.

Natural black marble may include white veins or mineral boundaries that require closer inspection near the carved bowl and the underside. Any repairs or joins should be assessed against the approved product standard. Where a pedestal consists of multiple sections, the connection method must be included in the inspection process.

Packing needs to protect the curved exterior, polished faces, basin rim and waste opening. A freestanding stone sink may have a substantial weight, depending on whether its body is solid, hollowed or assembled. Internal protective supports, suitable foam separation and reinforced export crates should be selected for the actual finished geometry.

The supplied reference price is USD 200–300 per set for a project quantity of 100 sets. The final quotation should define the stone model, dimensions, surface finish, waste fitting, faucet inclusion or exclusion, construction method, individual packing and destination. The current quantity does not automatically change the original listing’s 10-set MOQ.
