Port Laurent Marble Slab: Gold Veins, Black Depth, Finish, and Full-Face Placement

Port Laurent is often remembered as black marble with gold lines, but the best slabs carry more nuance: dark brown depth, pale calcite interruptions, fine fossil-like traces, and warm veins that change under side light. MQ STONE studies the complete face, tests finish and edge response, and places joints where the composition can breathe rather than letting a dramatic line be lost in cutting. My compositional rule is simple: Mark the visual centre before the cutting plan begins. Before release, view the slab under two light directions. Mark primary and secondary veins.
