Taj Mahal Quartzite Kitchen Countertops is a very hard, dense stone that holds up well in a kitchen setting. This is the same as granite countertops. Although Taj Mahal natural stone contains small inclusions of the mineral calcium carbonate, when in contact with acidic foods such as ketchup and other condiments or orange juice, this mineral dissolves and corrodes the surface of the stone.
